Spring is here, the seasons have changed, and it’s finally May! We’re almost halfway done with the year. Time is flying by, which means you have less time to crush the goals you made when the year started! How are you doing with chasing your goals?
Many people lost track of their goals about halfway through the year. Life gets busy, and we get distracted, and eventually another year has passed without us meeting our goals. Don’t let that happen to you!
It’s time to check in, and see where you are on making progress towards your goals. In a blog post we posted in February, “Keeping Up With Your Goals Throughout The Year”, we talked about the best ways stay on top of making progress towards your goals.
One of the best tips we had in this blog post was to work step by step, and cross off each little step until you eventually reached the end goal. If you wrote down your goals, and somehow lost the paper, it’s time to start all over. Write down your end goal, and then work backwards step by step, until you have a clear plan of how to get to your goal. Start working on this list and cross off each step until you eventually reach your goal by the end of this year!
It’s okay to lose sight of your goals, as long as you don’t lose sight forever. Getting back on track is the best thing you can do to make 2018 the year you grow, improve, and put your best foot forward. Don’t let falling off the bandwagon stop you from becoming the best version of yourself.
Three ways to improve your chances of earning your goals are:
- Create a step-by-step list of how to get to your goal
As you work step by step to reach your goals, your goals will seem easier to reach. Working in baby steps is much less overwhelming than going straight towards the end goal.
- Create a vision board
Keep your goals where you can see them. Constant reminders of what you’re working towards will keep your head in the game and help you stay motivated.
- Make sure your goals are S.M.A.R.T goals
S.M.A.R.T goals are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely. If your goals aren’t S.M.A.R.T. they won’t be easy to go after, and you could end up feeling like they are too tedious, unattainable, or time consuming!
Get back on track this May, and spend the rest of your year chasing, and crushing, the goals you set!
