Summer Marketing Trends to Watch Out For

The sun is out, the temperature is warmed, people are taking vacations, and sunscreen sales are skyrocketing. Summer is here, and with summer comes new marketing trends. Marketing trends change as often as the seasons do, especially in the digital media realm.

In order to stay at the top of the industry, you have to stay on top of your marketing, and the current trends in your industry.  Currently, digital marketing is happening world wide and locally. Locally being in your country, your state, or even your city. New digital algorithms can target those from your area or as far as those across the globe.

This summer, there are a few key trends to watch out for that’ll help you stay at the top of your industry and reach your maximum revenue.

According to rebelinteractivegroup.com, these are the four marketing trends to watch out for this summer:

  1. Penalizing Secure Sockets Layers

Google will be adding another layer to their search engine ranking system. Starting in July, If your company’s website does not have a Secure Sockets Layer, it will be marked as “not secure” in Google’s search engine. This will mark your website as risky and defer viewers afraid of getting viruses from your site. A Secure Sockets Layer is a layer that creates a secure connection between the website viewer and the website server.

  1. Shopify Integration

Shopify is an ecommerce platform that allows you to sell your products digitally. This platform will be able to connect to your social media platforms for your customers to shop right from the app. This allows your brand to be more present on your social media accounts, and more easily accessible. When your customers can shop at the push of a button, they’ll be more inclined to make a purchase.

  1. Mobile SEO Indexing

As more internet use goes mobile, the need for search engines to be mobile optimized is more present. Google will be adding a layer to their algorithm that dictates whether a website is mobile optimized or best viewed on desktop and show results based on which device the viewer is using.

  1. Accelerated Mobile Pages

Accelerated mobile pages, or AMP, is a system that website developers use to make website pages load faster on mobile devices. Websites need to load faster on mobile devices or the smartphone user will click out of the website and scroll somewhere else. Google will use this to send users to higher ranked websites and capture their leads for you.
